House Bound

Healthy conversations are good in the office during weekends! Our friend is looking for a house and she somehow liked a place in San Mateo, Rizal. It is only two jeepney rides plus a tricycle ride going to our office. Basically, that is one of the first things that is being considered by a buyer, how far is the house from the office place, market, hospital, school, and malls! Then, we thought of one of our office mates living in the area also. We did not know it but we were already talking about her life. We focused about her husband being jobless. He is taking care of their two kids though, one is three and if I remember it right, the other is two. My friends said that the husband should find a job of his own because it is very hard for our officemate already being the bread winner. They said that when both the husband and wife are working, life will be lighter and easier.

My husband is also staying at home right now taking care of our four year old son. He worked abroad though for ten years. We are only three in the house. Me, my husband and our son. Before, I also think that the set up should not be like that and it should be the wife who should stay in the house or both should be working. But, who would take care of our son? It is very hard to entrust your kid to a person that you actually do not know, right? Or, am I just not lucky to find a nanny or a housemaid?

I think that being a mother or a father staying in the house, taking care of the children, cleaning the house, cooking and doing all the other chores is the noblest job. I think that if ever I will be a stay at home mom, there will also be a point that I will say, I’d rather go to the office. But, of course, I would love to stay home with my kid.

Our ideals, wants and life should be’s really change when we are already in that situation. Reality bites? We just have to learn how to accept things, adjust and still make our lives happy, no matter what!
